Tea ANYone?

A few new items in my eBay store and my #2 Etsy Shop! I have never sold glassware…so this is new to me.  These are dishes that have been in the family but I don’t have a complete set and it doesn’t go with my theme. I’m hoping that maybe someone needs these pieces to complete their set.  I do love the pattern and think it is so sweet! Noritake Somerset 5317 cup saucer This is by Noritake.  The pattern is Somerset #5317.  This set is in my Etsy Shop.  There are 4 cups and 4 saucers.  Noritake china, though only officially registered under that trademark in 1981, has a history that goes as deep as the beginning of trade relations between the United States and Japan.  From my research this set was the 17th pattern produced in 1953. The first two digits ( 5317 )are the last two of the production year. The last two ( 5317 ) on the stamp are the place the pattern sits in the line of patterns created in that year.
Etsy dishes
This picture is taken from the same pattern, it is a bread and butter set that I have listed in my ebay store.  There are 4 pieces to this one.
These pieces would also be a great addition to those who love shabby chic decor!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Thrifty Thursday Finds

Good Day Everyone! Today I wanted to share my finds from my weekend yard sale adventures.  I ran across several interesting rummage sales, but only found a few items that I actually purchased. Considering the time and money involved I think I did pretty good!

I haven't researched these yet, but I will soon! Then I will decide where to list them!  eBay or Etsy? These are items that bring back fond childhood memories, and I'm sure they will be a pleasant reminder to others of you as well.
  • The red and white pail looks like a diaper pail according to the label...ummm, but we still have to find out for sure. Even though I collect the vintage red and white enamel ware I really don't know much about it.  I have a pail like this already and am willing to sell this one.
  • The framed print I found to be relevant to what I most like to sell and that is vintage clothing, although, it is hard to find dresses from the same era that this picture depicts.  I'm not sure if I will keep this one or not. We will see!
  • The aluminum cup reminds me of my dad.  He used to have a couple ( he may still have them ). He would have my mom mix up what he called Pepsi Doodles! It was a combination of Pepsi and vanilla ice cream.  They were a delicious family favorite for years.
  • The floral sugar bowl is a pattern my mom had as a complete dinner set with plates and all. I'll have to talk to her and see if she can tell me more about this pattern.
  • The Petunia Pig glass is from 1973.  She is one of the coolest Pigs I know, sorry Miss Piggy.  It is a classic collector series from Pepsi.
  • I have my schedule blocked out for a lot of research in the week ahead..  If you see this post and know anything about these pieces please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you know, it will be greatly appreciated!
While you are here how about taking the time and meeting some lovely bloggers and Tweeters!

You can also find one of Shannon’s Etsy Shop’s here Pish Posh Notions where she has some cool buttons for sale.  Check out her blog on her finds at The Recycle-ista. She has another shop that I will share with you later on this week…..so check back!

Its Peachy!

When I saw this dress it reminded me of a creamy peach milkshake. lol :) But it also reminded me of the prom days of the 80s. In fact when I bought this dress the clerk said “Oh, I had a dress just like this in the 80s for my prom.”
I fell in love with the sweetheart bust and the dainty lace on the chest. The back has a keyhole opening to die for and puff sleeves to boot! Oh.. and of course the bottom skirt which is shorter in the front and tapers down towards the back. I also thought the bow on the front was cute too! I have had this listed twice on ebay and no one has placed a bid…I had a few watchers,so thats why I have listed it again, hoping someone just forgot and they will place a bid on it this time. If you are reading this after the listing has ended, if it hasn’t sold, you can check my ebay store or my Etsy Shop.

Rocking Red with a Secret

O.K. So today I decided it was time to make a showing on my blog.  I usually am pretty shy about posting pics of myself.  As you will not see but maybe one, other than this one. But after much encouraging from my friends and fellow bloggers I decided to take the plunge. So here I am! Also I have been inspired by a few older vintage ladies that blog and share their different outfits with creativity.  I hope they won't be offended by that statement, because I'm proud to be a vintage lady!

In this photo I am wearing a new old stock vintage 80s dress. I call it the red rockabilly...yeah I know, that sounds kinda corny..huh? Well, it is a nice dress and it is available right now in my eBay Store at auction starting at 9.99.  If you haven't been to my store you should check it out.

I'm going to clue you in on a little secret, I run most of my auctions on eBay starting at a 9.99 ( sometimes .99) and since I don't seem to get much traffic you will probably get it for that price. Once an item doesn't sell I'm moving it over to Etsy , which I am loving it over there so far. I have met so many nice and talented people. So if you are interested NOW is the time.
