Australia Winter Starts Soon!

These are some really cute sweaters that are up for auction in my ebay shop. Designer brands Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, Arizonia Jean, Carolyn Taylor, and Eddie Bauer. Plus a few others. I know winter is about over for us in the USA, but our Australian friends are getting ready for their winter.

Officially Australia's winter is from June through August.  In the south of the continent, these are the coldest and wettest times of the year.  The northern tropical parts of the country do not have a winter, but rather a "dry season".  Winter officially starts June 21st. One of my Australian customers informed me about this, which is something I never knew or really paid attention to.  If you didn't know this, now you do! I like learning new things and especially from my wonderful customers!

What are You Wearing for St. Patricks Day?

So....what are you wearing today? I decided that for the ST. Patrick's Day celebration I would wear this cute 60s vintage green dress. I normally do not pose for the camera lol :), ( thats Valaries job) but thought to do something new and fun, a little goofy to say the least!
My model, Vintage Valerie is wearing a more contemporary style dress by Ann Taylor.  I really do like the polka dots and the ruffled collar and the soft flow of silk.  If this were my size I do believe I would keep it.  Green is one of my favorite colors, besides pink and blue. As a true shopaholic, I fell in love with both of these. One I get to keep and the other you can find here! Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Oprah Winfrey Wears Donna Ricco

Today as I was researching a cute dress I found by Donna Ricco I came across an auction that had ended March 11.  I was rather stunned, it went for $765.00. It was a dress worn by Oprah Winfrey. She has been cleaning out her closets and selling her items on ebay and giving 100% to her favorite charity.

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls - South Africa supports the development of women who, by virtue of their education and leadership, will lead the charge to positively transform themselves, their communities and the larger world around them. The Academy provides a supportive educational environment for talented girls who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and strives to equip them with the intellectual and social skills necessary to assume positions of leadership in South Africa and beyond.*

After reading the above paragraph I was inspired to follow her example and list my little Donna Ricco dress as a charity auction too. My charity of choice is Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat has worked with Haiti for over 26 years and will continue to serve the people there by helping to rebuild. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Under the direction of the Board of Directors, HFHI retains complete control over the use and distribution of donated funds in furtherance of its mission.*

If you so feel lead, check out these organiztions! And in the mean time come check out my little Donna Ricco dress. It is amazingly cute with its mermaid like behind.

* this info was taken off both auction pages ~
